Farmers' art
Colorful Brushstrokes Upon the Earth, an exhibition that opened at the National Museum of China on Tuesday, celebrates the boundless imagination, creativity and industrious hands and minds of farmer artists who express their lives and work through various forms of art. Running through January in Beijing, the exhibition gathers paintings, lacquer works and mixed-media pieces incorporating everyday objects, created by amateur artists from rural communities across the country. The works on show reflect a wide spectrum of folk customs and ceremonial traditions throughout the year, as well as the country's diverse landscapes from north to south, and east to west, highlighting a harmonious bond between people and nature. The exhibition also reflects the progress of modern agriculture, supported by technology, and the changes it has brought to rural life.
