As Wished: Honoring our heroes' sacrifice
On Aug 15, 1945, Japan accepted the Potsdam Proclamation and announced its unconditional surrender. On Sept 2, 1945, Japan officially surrendered by signing the Instrument of Surrender. On Sept 9, 1945, the signing ceremony for the Japan's surrender in China Theater was held in Nanjing.
To achieve victory, Chinese soldiers and civilians fought fiercely for 14 years; for hope, our forebears charged forward with fearless determination and unparalleled perseverance.
Every moment of peace we enjoy today is a resounding response to their aspirations, forged through the trials of war.
Today, our land shines brightly with the light of countless homes, and our mountains and rivers reflect the dreams of those who came before us.
To our heroes: rest assured. We will remember history and strive tirelessly to strengthen ourselves!
