Former national political adviser under investigation
Liu Hui, a former national political adviser, is under investigation for suspected severe violations of Party discipline and national laws, China's top anti-corruption bodies announced on Friday.
The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China and the National Commission of Supervision announced the investigation online without disclosing further details.
Public information shows that Liu, a 65-year-old ministerial-level official, started her career in June 1977 and joined the Party in December 1985. She worked in the Ningxia Hui autonomous region for decades, holding various positions, including acting as head of the regional civil affairs department and chair of the regional government.
From 2022 to 2023, she worked for the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, serving as deputy head of its division on education, science, health and sports.
