Multiple Grammy-award winning conductor JoAnn Falletta will collaborate with Shanghai Symphony Orchestra in the new season. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]

The orchestra will play Shostakovich Symphony No 5 and No 7 at two opening concerts of its new season in September, then go on to present Shostakovich Symphony No 8 and No 9 later in this season.
