Director Chen Kaige expressed his hope that the film The Volunteers: To the War would help preserve the memory and spirit of the Chinese People's Volunteers Army. He made the remarks on Tuesday during a speech at the Forum on High-Quality Development of the Film Industry in Shenzhen, South China's Guangdong province.
Chen emphasized that the title "Chinese People's Volunteer Army" stands as a lasting symbol of honor and national pride.
The film forum was one of ten parallel sessions taking place under the Forum on Building up China's Cultural Strength 2025, which opened on Monday in Shenzhen.
