Academician: Battle pancreatic disease to benefit patients, offer 'Oriental Wisdom'
A senior Chinese medical expert has called on medical researchers and producers to jointly battle pancreatic diseases — a critical clinical challenge and global medical issue, making breakthroughs and benefiting patients in China and worldwide.
Speaking in Beijing during a signing ceremony, Zhao Yupei, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, called on the signatories to work to generate more scientific achievements, establishing Chinese standards for pancreatic disease prevention and treatment, and contributing "Oriental Wisdom" to international guidelines.
Zhao, president of the Chinese Association of Pancreatology (CAP), said he hoped CAP and Jiangsu province-based Hengrui Pharma can enhance bilateral exchanges, launch the "Pancreatic Health China Initiative" public welfare project, and implement a number of directives from the National Health Commission, including improving grassroots access to high-quality medical resources.
