Kunming will co-host the 7th Summit for Subnational Governments & Cities, a parallel event to the COP 15 scheduled for Dec 7-19 in Montreal.

The summit, focused on a campaign for biodiversity, will be held on Dec 11-12 and will revolve around the three activities: Engagement, Influence and Action.

Kunming will demonstrate biodiversity initiatives, solutions and achievements in urban development planning, wetland protection and other forms of actions.

It will also work closely with other cities to advance the implementation of the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework and strengthen cooperation and exchange with other cities.

Kunming will aspire for the honor of being named “charming city of abundant diversity” during the summit.
