COVID-19 policy shift due to 'experience and confidence' in control measures
He Qinghua, an official from the National Administration of Disease Control and Prevention, said at a news conference on Thursday that people who take public transportation, travel between regions and enter places that don't have vulnerable people no longer need to present a negative nucleic acid test result, but travelers must still know how to protect themselves against novel coronavirus.
A negative result is still needed to enter nursing homes, welfare homes, medical institutions, childcare institutions and primary and secondary schools.
"The COVID-19 policy is based on the experience and confidence of epidemic prevention and control efforts made across the country in the past three years," He said.
He added that some large companies can continue to set their own prevention and control measures depending on local epidemic situations.
