Students, scholars urged to postpone travel abroad due to virus
The Ministry of Education suggests that students and scholars postpone their travel abroad due to the ongoing novel coronavirus epidemic.
The ministry said on Tuesday that due to the entry control measures implemented in some countries and regions, people should arrange their travel reasonably.
It said that if it is not necessary to go at once, postponing the travel is recommended. If there is a special need, they should get to know the current rules on entry to their destination countries, such as arriving at the port of departure in advance to allow sufficient time for quarantine checks.
People with fever, cough and other symptoms of acute respiratory infections should immediately stop traveling and go to the hospital.
Up to Sunday, screening measures have been put in place at border entries such as airports and harbors in a number of countries, including Laos, Bangladesh, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, Turkey, Bahrain, Uganda and Zambia to check for signs of infection from the virus.
