LONDON - Chinese teenager Yan Bingtao stunned world number four Neil Robertson 6-1 to reach the quarterfinals at snooker UK Championships in York on Wednesday.
Yan, 19, opened the match in style by winning the first five frames. Robertson managed to pulled one back but Yan killed the game in the seventh frame.
Yan is going to face veteran John Higgins on Friday. The rising star won his first ranking title at the Riga Masters earlier this season.
China's Liang Wenbo also booked a place in the quarterfinals by beating compatriot Li Hang 6-4. He will play against the winner between China's top player Ding Junhui and defending champion Ronnie O'Sullivan.
Last year's runner-up Mark Ellen edged out Kurt Maflin 6-5.
