China beat Indonesia 2-1 in AFSC U-18
JAKARTA - China students soccer team on Wednesday defeated their Indonesian opponents 2-1 during a match in Group B in the 2019 Asian Schools Football Championship (ASFC) U-18 in the country's East Kalimantan province.
The first goal was scored by Chinese player Li Mengyang in the 19th-minute of the first half at the Batakan sports stadium in Balikpapan city.
Indonesian player Rizki Armando got an equalizer shortly into the second half. However, China's Cui Hai successfully slotted home a penalty in the 58th-minute of the second half after a handball by Indonesian player Wenvi Adhana.
Despite the defeat, Indonesia remain top of Group B with six points, separated from China on goal difference.
The 2019 ASFC U-18 kicked off on November 17 and will end on November 23. Indonesia, China, South Korea, and Sri Lanka are in Group B.
