"Faust has been interpreted by many different cultures and adapted into various art forms, from operas to movies. It's like a great mountain and we are the climbers, hoping to stand on top of it and enjoy the view," says Lei, who met the director when his productions of The Three Sisters and Madagascar were being staged in Beijing in 2016 and 2017.
