Macao Int'l Airport records 2.51 m passenger movements in Q3
MACAO - Macao International Airport recorded robust performance in the third quarter of 2019, as its passenger movements surpassed 2.51 million, up by 17 percent year-on-year, the MIA public relation department said on Tuesday.
The MIA said there were over 19,995 aircraft movement in the third quarter of this year, also increasing 19 percent year-on-year.
Passenger traffic in Chinese mainland routes and Southeast Asia routes continue to perform well and recorded an increase of 22 percent and 18 percent compared with the same period of last year. Passenger traffic in China's Taiwan routes also recorded increase of 8 percent.
On Oct 1-7, MIA has handled over 170,000 passenger movements and over 1,550 aircraft movements, representing a 15 percent and 19 percent increase respectively compared with the same period last year.
By the end of September 2019, there are 30 airlines operate at MIA, connecting Macao to some 58 destinations covering area in Chinese mainland, China's Taiwan, Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia.
