They settled there, assimilated with the locals, and left a legacy that now lies at the center of Yunnan cuisine: cheese. The nomads used a unique method involving whey to ferment and ripen milk. The season, consisting of 10 episodes, will shine a spotlight on Southwest China's Yunnan province, a region blessed with abundant sunlight, fresh produce and exotic spices.
