Philosophy, social science works gains popularity in young Chinese

BEIJING — Young Chinese preferred to read philosophy and social science in May, according to a China youth reading index report.
Philosophy and social science, literature as well as history topped Chinese young people's reading lists last month, said the report released by the China Youth Publishing Group.
The reading demand index for philosophy and social science category went up from 32.01 in April to 35.41 in May while the demand index for literature works fell 3.58 to 27.06 last month.
The supply index for literature reading fell 1.71 in May, though still surpassed other categories.
The Index was first introduced in 2017 to analyze the reading preferences of Chinese people aged between 14 and 35.
