An allowance of HK$300,000 will be allocated for families of the deceased, while those injured will get HK$150,000 to HK$250,000. It will be distributed by the Social Welfare Department.
Eighteen people were declared dead at the scene and another 67 were sent to 11 hospitals for treatment. One died at the hospital later. As of 1 pm on Sunday, Lam said, nine victims were still in critical condition, and another 11 in serious shape.
