SANTIAGO - Colo-Colo secured their 32nd Chilean first division title by defeating Huachipato 3-0 away from home in their last match of the season on Saturday.
It's not until the 73rd minute for the Santiago club to take the lead at the Ester Roa stadium in the southern city of Concepcion when Jaime Valdez converted a spot-kick.
The goal opened the floodgates and Uruguayan striker Octavio Rivero doubled the visitors' lead before forward Nicolas Orellana blasted a shot past Bolivian goalkeeper Carlos Lampe.
With the victory, Colo-Colo finished two points above rivals Union Espanol at the competition standings.
Universidad Chile were third, a point further back.
