Tens of thousands of residents in East China participated in a charity program late last month to help two sick children realize their dream to become a police officer and doctor for one day.
Zhezhe, 8, from Hangzhou in Zhejiang province, was born with Prader-Willi syndrome, a genetic disorder caused by the loss of function of specific genes. His ambition is to become a policeman.
His peer Xuxu, 9, from Xuzhou of Jiangsu province, also has the syndrome and he aspires to become a medical professional.
To fulfill the two children's dream, a charity organization called Childream started to coordinate with public security, health and other departments and residential communities in Hangzhou from two months ago to help the two children work as a traffic policeman and doctor.
