Lin Jiguang, chairman of Gianguan Auctions in New York, presents to the press on Wednesday, a painting by Xu Beihong, a Chinese painter known primarily for his ink paintings of horses and birds and who was one of the fi rst Chinese artists to articulate the need for artistic expression refl ecting a modern China at the beginning of the 20th century.
