Beijing and Executive Vice-President of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the
Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) toured the construction site of the Olympic
Village on Wednesday.
He visited the athletes' apartments, the parks in the northern part of the
Village and other places.
According to information supplied by the constructor, the shell of the 42
buildings of the Olympic Village was finished at the end of 2006 and facade of
two sample buildings of two sample buildings recently been completed. The sample
suite has a useful floor area of 137.66 square meters.
By December 23, 2006, 2,702 trees and 6,581 shrubs had been planted in the
northern part of the Village.
